A farm rich in history and lasting beauty, located in the heart of New England

Make your own history at 1790 Stone Manor.

1790 Stone Manor was built between 1790 and 1792 by Nathaniel Smith. Nathaniel visited Pennsylvania where he fell in love with the many stone homes, that were mirrored in French manors, when he returned to MA, Nathaniel promptly commissioned Frederick Wadsworth to build a French style home from the granite quarry that can still be found on the property. This farm was once the center point of a 54 acres agricultural estate or “Gentleman’s Farm”. This property eventually hosted the town of Hopkinton’s gristmill, the insignia still on the front of the house above the front door. The large barn that still stands and is adjacent to the house, was built in 1865 to hold horses and equipment for the farm. Over the years, the house was uniquely passed down to eldest daughter in each generation, who were all highly educated and traveled the world. The house stayed in the same family for over 220 years, until we bought the property 2018. As we explored the home we found pictures of weddings, family gatherings and celebrations that drove our vision to share this farm with others for their own unique celebrations. We have spent the few years renovating to keep the charm and uniqueness of the estate, but have added comforts of today.

The property allows use of the house, the barn, and if you are having a ceremony, there is a garden haven with a gazebo off the back of the barn. We have large patios in front and back of the barn and a firepit to keep your hands warm during a heartwarming celebration.

A view inside the barn. The barn is where you can have your party with ~100-150 guests. The barn is both heated and air-conditioned and has two outdoor patios to support both indoor and outdoor gathering spots. The wedding gazebo is a 12x12 space to celebrate your ceremony. Tables, chairs and white linens are included for your party inside the barn.
